Annual drawdown begins on October 1st

With some leaves turning colors, an invasion of apple pickers and a tease of cooler weather, it must be fall.

For those of you needing to get boats in or out of boat houses or up on shore while the water is high, be aware that the beginning of the annual maintenance drawdown will begin with board removal at the dam on October 1. It is anticipated the level will be down the 6-8 inches below the level of the concrete outfall for maintenance in the next week or two.   This is the usual drawdown that has occurred as regular maintenance for years to protect from ice damage.

After that, additional very gradual drawdown will commence as part of the weed mitigation drawdown that the LBC is conducting.  There will be much more notification on that in the local papers, on this website and in email notifications.
