Stow Recreation Department programs at Pine Bluffs

The Stow Recreation Department is offering has a lot planned at Pine Bluffs this summer. You can read more in the newsletter, online here.

Beach passes are available

Season Passes
Resident: $70 family, $50 individual
Senior (65+) : $30 family, $20 individual
Non-resident: $115 family, $75 individual

Day Passes
Resident: $8 family, $5 individual
Resident Senior (65+): $2 family, $1 individual. The Stow Recreation Department does not issue Non-Resident Day Passes – Season Passes Only!

Summer Art and Swim at Pine Bluffs
Dates: August 22-26
Ages: 5-12 years
Times: 9am – 1pm
Cost: $120

AquaCize at Lake Boon

This wonderful Water Fitness class at Pine Bluff Beach is a fun, re-energizing, total body workout for all ages and fitness levels. You can exercise with minimal stress to your joints, while enjoying fresh air and the beautiful surroundings. Improve your cardiopulmonary system, strength and endurance, flexibility, range of motion, and balance!

Thursdays, 6:00pm – 7:00pm June 23, 30; July 7, 14, 21, 28; August 4, 11
Fee Options:

  1. All Classes, All Tuesdays and Thursdays for entire summer session: $150 (prorated fees available)
  2. All Tuesdays OR All Thursdays: $80 (prorated fees available)
  3. Daily Drop-in fee: $15

Lake Boon Association Annual Meeting video online

For those who missed the Lake Boon Association Annual Meeting Sunday evening, the recording is available thanks to Stow TV’s Jonathan Daisy and crew. You can watch it below.

It begins with the LBA business meeting, followed by the Healthy Lake Boon Project presentation starting at 36 minutes.

Among the project’s recommendations to improve the health of the lake are:

Limit surface runoff that carries nutrients

  • Limit lawn fertilizers–no phosphorus
  • Keep leaves and clippings out of lake
  • Wash cars away from lake
  • Pick up after pets
  • Plant vegetative buffer
  • Limit impervious surfaces

Maintain septic systems

  • Pump about every two years
  • Use no-phosphate dishwasher detergent

Stormwater management systems

  • Review drains around lake
  • Drain properly before water enters lake
